The Equity-One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship returns to action at Queensland Raceway where Scott Taylor will reach 100 races in the category on home turf.

A capacity field will race at the circuit located just outside of Ipswich, with Taylor sitting ninth in the Pro-Am standings following rounds at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix and Hidden Valley Raceway.

Taylor recently tested at Queensland Raceway last week and is confident of a strong result after being out of the seat for two months.

A long-time competitor in Porsche machinery, Taylor brings up 100 races at Queensland Raceway in Equity-One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia after joining the championship in 2014.

Having been an regular on and off in the category for 12-years, Taylor committed himself to a full-tilt at the 2026 season after time away as he targets improvement in the Pro-Am stakes.

Discussions are already underway for next year’s program, which will welcome a new model Cup Car to local competition. For Taylor, the 992.2 Porsche 911 Cup Car is a tantalising proposition.

“It was great to get a test done last week and I was quicker than the last time I was at QR,” said Taylor.

“The weather is going to be interesting this weekend due to the predicted rain during the event and with a full field, there might be a bit of action.

“It’s great to celebrate 100 races this weekend and to do it at my home track is awesome. The championship is well run and I’ve kept all my Porsches from my previous programs. I just love them.

“Being full-time again in this category is enjoyable and with the new model on the horizon, I’m still debating about getting one, though I know if I don’t get one I’ll regret it. We’ll race this weekend and decide afterwards.”
