Scott Taylor Motorsport continued to build on its Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship campaign following a successful Bathurst event.

Eponymous team owner and driver Scott Taylor continued to lower his lap times during the event to score a consistent run of finishes in all three races.

Coached by the expert team at Ashley Seward Motorsport, Taylor qualified sixth and replicated the result in the opening race.

There was drama at the start of the second race when the lights malfunctioned leading to confusion and damage for some competitors, but Taylor safely negotiated the trouble to score another sixth in what was a shortened affair.

Another sixth was scored in the final race as Taylor left the Mountain happy after improving in each event.

Taylor now heads to his home state to compete on the storied Gold Coast Street Circuit for the penultimate round of the Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship on October 23-25.

“It speaks for itself, it’s Bathurst and we’ve had a ball,” said Taylor.

“The car and myself are in one piece, which is important to us, plus we got faster as the weekend progressed to meet our aims.

“We bought along our simulator, which has helped out Matt (Slavin) and myself to get our eye in. The young kids keep on going faster and it’s incredible how much they put it on the line.

“We learnt a bit this weekend, but there’s more coaching to do before the Gold Coast in two weeks. It’ll be a lot of fun there, but it’s a concrete jungle, so we better behave ourselves.”
