Taylor Continues Porsche Improvement Curve at Townsville
16th July, 2021Scott Taylor has continued his improvement curve in Round 3 of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup at Townsville on the weekend, chalking up results of seventh, fourth and fifth in the Pro-Am Class to cement himself in the top five on the series ladder.
After qualifying seventh, Taylor enjoyed an uneventful run in the opening race to finish seventh in class.
The second race was drama-filled, with a couple of major incidents. One of the incidents, a collision between Adrian Flack and Sam Shahin, happened right in front of Taylor; fortunately he avoided the accident and moved up a couple of places as a result.
Taylor rounded out his consistent weekend with fifth place in the final race of the weekend.
“We avoided all the incidents this weekend, and I’m happy for the fact we learned more about the car and I improved,” Taylor said.
“The second race was a lot of fun, mixing it with others in the pack.”
“Overall, I’m on target for my 2021 goals, keeping the car in one piece and having fun.”
The next Carrera Cup round is scheduled to take place at Sydney Motorsport Park, 20-22 August.
