2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour Wrap-Up

5th March, 2024

Scott Taylor Motorsport proudly featured the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia for the third consecutive year at Australia’s leading international endurance event.

Scott Taylor said it’s the perfect time to remind racing fans to take their health seriously.

“More than 47,000 fans attended Mount Panorama this year and we hope the #GetChecked tag created an impact, along with the opportunity to make a contribution,” he said.

STM #222 Mercedes-AMG driven by Craig Lowndes, Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle started 13th on the grid at the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.

“This race never disappoints, the excitement is gripping; we are on the edge of our seats as we watch it unfold,” Scott said.

“Our all-Aussie, world class pro team, comprising racing legend and veteran Craig Lowndes, a two-time winner of the 12 Hour; alongside Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle demonstrated our ability to match the best the world has to offer in GT racing. We are proud to be the only all Australian team to lead the 12-hour race and to be the first all Australian team placed,” Taylor commented.

The car and drivers performed exceptionally in wet treacherous conditions, Thomas Randle leading by 6 seconds during the ninth hour.

Scott commented that “Ash Seward Motorsport team performed a top job across the weekend, consistently and efficiently managing every pit stop without fault or penalty.”

Scott is exceptionally proud of the effort and contribution each and every person involved with the STM campaign made across the entire weekend. “Special thanks and recognition to Emma Seward, Lara Lowndes, and my wife Rebecca Taylor for the endless behind the scenes support, work and commitment.”

Finishing the 275 laps, in 7th position overall, with a race time of 12:01:38.2583, only just over 16 seconds behind the winning result.

“It’s a privilege and an honour to be surrounded by talented and dedicated people. What’s even better is that we enjoy every moment of the adventure. We had everything covered from our cowboy hats and band practice; to signing the most posters and meeting so many cool race fans,” Scott said.
