Success for Scott Taylor Motorsport in Tasmania
11th May, 2025Significant progress was made by Scott Taylor Motorsport in both its Dunlop Super2 and Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes Series campaigns at Symmons Plains, Tasmania on the weekend, with Nash Morris leading the way.
Throughout Round 2 of the 2025 Dunlop Super2 season, Morris was among the front-running contenders as part of a four-car Tickford Autosport line-up, qualifying eighth for the opening race of the weekend before jumping up one position to be seventh by the end of Saturday.
Further improvements were made on Sunday, enabling Morris to make the inaugural Top 5 Shootout after setting the third-fastest time in qualifying. It got better in the Top 5 Shootout as Morris led the way after his lap, only to be pipped for pole to the tune of 0.053s.
Starting from second, Morris won the start and took the lead into the opening sequence of corners to hold on for his maiden Dunlop Super2 Series race victory in dominant fashion.
It vaults Morris into second in the standings and marked his best round yet in the second-tier series.
Team owner Scott Taylor put his Ford Ranger in 19th after qualifying, but a spin in the opening race dropped him to 21st.
Taylor moved up to 17th in Race 2 before scoring 16th in the third and finished the weekend in 20th.
Joining Taylor in the series was Paul Morris, who picked up top 10 finishes in all four races – his best result coming in race two on Saturday morning where he secured sixth overall. Before his P6, Morris ended up seventh in the opening outing before securing a P9 and P10 respectively in races three and four.
The next round of Dunlop Super2 is at the Townsville 500 on July 11–13, and the Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes continue at Carco.com.au Raceway in Perth on June 6–8.

“It was a pretty awesome weekend down south in Tasmania,” said Morris.
“We’ve finished off the weekend off with a win after starting second and getting the jump off the start to lead every lap.
“Unfortunately, it finished under safety car as it would have been cool to cross the line with the chequered flag.
“It was awesome nonetheless, so thanks to all my sponsors and Scott Taylor Motorsport for everything.”

“It was a good weekend,” Taylor summarised.
“There were some further parity changes to the utes, which was a good thing and I think there was some closer racing in doing that.
“All the panels are on the car, which is pretty important when looking at some of the utes and how close the racing is.
“I go racing for a different reason and that’s to have fun, and I’ve come away from this weekend having just that.
“Nash went well in Super2, so we’ll pack up the trucks and get on the boat tonight to head back up home to Queensland by Tuesday.”
