Scott Taylor Motorsport returns to Carrera Cup full-time in 2026
26th February, 2026Scott Taylor Motorsport will return to the Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia full-time in 2026, with team owner Taylor set to compete in his first full season in the class.
Having made his Carrera Cup debut in 2014, Taylor has competed in selected rounds of the series almost every year since.
The 2026 season will mark the first time he will contest every round of the competitive Porsche championship.
The last time that an STM Porsche contested every round of the title was in 2024 with Pro-class entrant Nash Morris.
Taylor’s Pro-Am entry will compete in his team’s popular black and green scheme, supported by long-time track partner Ashley Seward Motorsport.
The Gold Coaster has put the #222 Porsche through its paces at Winton and The Bend in recent weeks, with noted Porsche expert Alex Davison to act as mentor and driving coach for the season.
Taylor will be race ready for the opening round at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Albert Park next weekend, having competed in the Combined Sedans class at Mount Panorama two weeks ago.
The 2026 Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia starts at Albert Park on March 5-8, followed by rounds at Hidden Valley, Queensland Raceway, The Bend, Bathurst, Gold Coast and Adelaide.

“I’ve raced Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge for a long-time now, so hence why I’m going back to it,” said Taylor.
“I feel at home in a Porsche and the later model cars, which are more aero-reliant. They can be harder for a gentleman driver like myself to tame, but with the addition of ABS in the current Carrera Cup cars, I can hustle it and it doesn’t give me any surprises.
“What I love about Carrera Cup is the capacity to tune the car, the ability to be trained as a driver, the safety features and benefits of a factory-built race car.
“The calendar that they have put together is great. The Grand Prix and all the major Supercars rounds really tick a lot of boxes for me.
“Being a global formula and the parity across that, we’ve all got the same tools and I like that. I respond well to that because another driver hasn’t got different components in their car or have tuned it to the extreme. The parity is hard to argue with.
“Having guys like Alex Davison and Ash Seward running my car means that I can understand and respond to the training that I receive from them. We all gel and communicate really well within the environment. We’re all racers at heart.
“The Grand Prix is one of the pinnacle events on the Australian motorsport calendar. Melbourne’s a great place to race, the environment’s fantastic and being from there originally, it’s like going back to my roots. The track is pretty safe, the event is well run and I thoroughly enjoy it.
“Part of my racing DNA is my truck, so I get to take my trucks and the gear to the best tracks in Australia, so that’s important. The whole theme around Melbourne is very cultured and the fans don’t just go to watch the races as it’s a very social event.
“It’s a good way to start the season.”
