Scott Taylor Motorsport makes successful return to Carrera Cup
10th March, 2026It was a clean and successful start to the Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship season for Scott Taylor Motorsport at Albert Park for the Grand Prix meeting.
Team owner and driver Scott Taylor made a clean start to his first campaign in Carrera Cup since 2023, making progress in each race as he gets back into the swing of Australia’s most competitive one-make motorsport category.
Partnering with the experienced Ashley Seward Motorsport, Taylor and his crew continued to display promising signs for a successful Pro-Am Class return.
Qualifying 10th in Pro-Am for the opening race after limited practice was a solid result for Taylor, who converted it to ninth in Race 1.
He also scored ninth in Friday’s dusk race, despite difficult conditions caused by the still-dirty track and the setting twilight.
Taylor improved his fastest lap in the final race to close the gap to the Pro-Am contenders.
Hidden Valley Raceway is the second stop on the Equity One Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship calendar scheduled for June 19-21.

“Albert Park, what a stage to compete on,” summarised Taylor.
“It was a bit hard due to no practice and going straight into qualifying – three incidents during that session that made it even more difficult.
“The first race was not too bad, but the second was very poor. The track was very dirty, I couldn’t see due to the sun and I didn’t do a good job.
“That knocked me about a bit mentally, but I had a good think overnight.
“I started good in Race 3, let the faster guys through and enjoyed Albert Park for the circuit it is.
“I’m loving Carrera Cup and it’s a good for an old boy, so it’s ticking all the boxes for me.
“I have a little bit of work to do before we head to Darwin for the next round, but looking forward to it.”
