Nash Morris and STM amped for title chase on home turf

Scott Taylor Motorsport’s Nash Morris arrives on home turf at Queensland Raceway primed for the Dunlop Super2 Series title fight.

Third in the Dunlop Super2 Series standings, Morris finished fourth and seventh last time out at Townsville, ensuring he remains deep in the title fight as the back half of the season awaits the leading contenders.

It’s been a record-setting season for Morris and the Tickford Autosport after achieving a podium lockout in Townsville, with its four drivers heading the top four positions in the series standings.

Queensland Raceway is a circuit Morris is vastly experienced at and will enter as one of the favourites for victory.

Morris clocked up recent laps at the venue as part of a PremiAir Racing evaluation test day, which has led to his confirmation as co-driver to Richie Stanaway in the Repco Supercars Championship Endurance Cup comprising The Bend 500 and Bathurst 1000.

The opportunity comes as just reward for a breakout Dunlop Super2 Series campaign in 2025 highlighted by Morris’ maiden victory in the second-tier category at Symmons Plains.

It’s an expanded program for Scott Taylor Motorsport at Queensland Raceway, as team owner Scott Taylor returns to the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Championship field for the first time since Gold Coast 2022.

Scott Taylor Motorsport’s Dunlop Super2 Series and Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Championship programs will descend on Queensland Raceway for the Century Batteries Ipswich 440 on August 8-10.

“Everyone says I’ll go good at Queensland Raceway because of the amount of laps I log there, but you’ve got to follow through with it,” said Morris.

“You never enter race meetings at Queensland Raceway thinking you’re going to win, even though you might have done a lot of laps there and you know where the track goes. But you always want to achieve a good result and have fun while doing it.

“I don’t put many expectations on my racing and results at the moment, but our team has won the last four races, so a victory at Queensland Raceway is definitely possible. I’ll go there and do my best, which hopefully places me in the top five.

“Despite fighting for the title, we’re all team-mates and we will continue to work together. Inside a team, there’s no real hiding as everyone has the data and onboard footage, so even if you’re sneaky by hiding it or not showing everything, it can still be found.

“At the end of the day, they’re my team-mates and they can either help or hurt you, so it’s best to stay on the right side of them.”
