Nash Morris has enjoyed a solid outing at this weekend’s Sandown 500, scoring a trio of top 10 finishes in the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup.

Behind the wheel of the #222 Scott Taylor Motorsport Carrera Cup car, Morris displayed a highly consistent performance across the three days, resulting in a solid points haul.

Starting off with a busy Friday that involved three sessions across the day, Morris never found himself outside the top 10 – posting the ninth fastest time in Practice 1 and improving to the third fastest time in Practice 2, before qualifying in seventh.

Saturday morning saw wet weather cause no shortage of chaos across the round’s opening outing, with Morris holding navigating the wet track to finish where he started.

The day’s second race took place in slightly dryer conditions, but still proved a significant challenge as a handful of drivers struggled to handle the circuit. Morris was one of the few who did take advantage of the drama around him, climbing from seventh to fifth during the extended 29-lap affair.

Unfortunately’ Morris did lose a place in the round’s final race on Sunday afternoon to reach the chequered flag in P6, however his three results earned him sixth for the round overall and saw him move up the overall standings to eighth.

Morris will again be in action for the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup next month, when the series heads to the famous Mount Panorama for the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 10-13.
