Scott Taylor Motorsport saddles up for 20,000km road trip
4th June, 2025Three race meetings and 20,000km lay ahead of the Scott Taylor Motorsport squad in the next month as it hauls a major amount of equipment to Perth, Darwin and Townsville.
First of all, the STM truck will head to Carco.com.au Raceway for the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 on June 6-8 before travelling to Hidden Valley Raceway for the betr Darwin Triple Crown ahead of a brief trip home before travelling to Melbourne to pick up some vital cargo ahead of the NTI Townsville 500.
All this equals an amazing 20,000km and team owner Scott Taylor has helped quite a few teams thanks to his long haul efforts.
The first piece of the trip is a 13,500km round trip from his Queensland base to Perth, then Darwin and back.
Taylor will carry his own SuperUte alongside those of team-mate Paul Morris and Holly Espray, his two Porsches one of which is a current specification Carrera Cup model and the other being an older 911 GT3R used at various rounds last year.
In addition to this, Mitch Pullen’s drift cars – a Silvia and Hilux – are onboard as well as Showtime’s step deck full of its ride cars, Dick Johnson Racing’s 40-foot merchandise container and all the signs for the truck underneath one of the trailers.
Taylor will use one of the Porsche 911 GT3R to compete in the Combined Sedans up in Darwin.
Capping off the final voyage of this adventure will be a trip to Melbourne to pick up the Tickford Autosport Super2 entries including the STM Ford Mustang of Nash Morris ahead of a trip up to Townsville before returning the Mustangs to Melbourne – adding a further 6000km.
Taylor will be competing in the Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes Series at Perth and Townsville and the Combined Sedans in Darwin.
Round 3 of the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series supports the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 on June 6-8.

“The round trip is 13,500km before we get home and go to Melbourne to pick up the Tickford cars, which is a four day trip up and back, so it will make it 20,000km by the end,” said Taylor.
“We’ve been driving more than 1000km a day for five days to get to Perth. People can’t imagine driving 1000km let alone doing it for five days straight!
“The truck has never been so dirty, so we washed it as soon as we arrived.
“We’ve got onboard three SuperUtes, two Porsches, two drift cars, Dick Johnson Racing 40-foot merchandise container and the Showtime trailer. We’ve had people asking why we need two road trains because we’ve got a load of stuff as we’ve been ringing around asking if people need stuff transported because we’re going for a lap.
“I haven’t been to Perth for a few years and I do like the track, which is a bit of fun. I think the SuperUte racing will be really close.
“I’m going to race the GT3R Porsche in the Combined Sedans at Darwin and I’m just going to get some laps under my belt. It was either this or Carrera Cup, but I haven’t had enough time in the Cup Car to re-join that just at the moment.
“I raced in Combined Sedans in the Torana last year, and I was down the back of the field getting beaten up by HQs. I really like the class so I thought it would be cool to bring something different this time.”
